Dakota Mahogany
Here are just a few of the hundreds of monuments we have created out of Dakota Mahogany. It is a popular color due to its beauty and because traditionally, Dakota Mahogany was used extensively in the past and family members like to match the colors of other family member's stones. Although it use to be a very economical color, the price has risen considerably compared to other granite colors in the past two decades. It is quarried out of Grant County South Dakota and is essentially the same color of Mount Rushmore. In fact, one of the more beautiful grades is called Rushmore Mahogany. Several grades are available at varying price points including Sunset Mahogany (orange steaks/splotches) to Select Mahogany (very consistent grain) to Carnelian. Carnelian tends to be the best value overall balancing beauty and price.
REMEMBER - Any granite shape can be made from any granite color. If you see a monument you like on this page, but like a different granite color? No worries! Let us know your preferred color and we will be happy to get you a price.
